Roosevelt Care Center
(RCC) is
conveniently located in Edison, NJ, in the center of Middlesex County, and
is owned and operated by the Middlesex County Improvement Authority (MCIA).
Our
20-acre campus, overlooking a lake, sits on the edge of beautiful
Roosevelt Park and is adjacent to Menlo Park Mall. We are within a
mile of the Garden State Parkway, the New Jersey Turnpike, I-287, U.S.
Rt. 1 and Rt. 27.
The main building in
the RCC complex was constructed during the 1930s and is now on the
National Register of Historic Places. It was an undertaking of the
Works Project Administration (WPA) and was named in honor of the
creator of that program, President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
For many years,
Roosevelt served as the Middlesex County tuberculosis hospital. In
the 1950s, it was converted to a long-term-care facility, and
rehabilitation and recreation programs were added. The annex building
on the other side of Parsonage Road was completed in 1964, and a major
addition (A Zone) to the main building opened in 1982.
A 180-bed
facility opened at the annex site in May 2005, and the Middlesex County Board of Freeholder has acquired land in Old Bridge Township for construction of another 180-bed long term care center. A renovation of
the historic building to create senior and/or handicapped apartments is also being
studied.
If you must make a decision about rehabilitative or long-term care for
yourself or someone you love, we invite you to browse through our site

decisions like this affect entire families, and our team of skilled
professionals is ready to help you make the right choice. |
